“I dreamed you gave me a place to call home and a family to call my own.” "I arrived at GPRS a year ago from a central Texas animal shelter. I was shy and nervous around people and other dogs. My life before was full of neglect and few meals. I was a young puppy with no social skills.”
Today Balou continues to blossom into a happy, beautiful boy who was born around April 2019 and now weighs 80 lbs. He learns more and more each day to trust the touch of humans. He has made a lot of progress in becoming confident around people.
He likes his meals and especially treats, which helped the rescue volunteers teach him that good things come from humans. He is seeking affection from people whereas before would not. Balou enjoys being brushed and groomed and likes to go for long walks. He is so handsome that he attracts attention when out on the streets.
Balou would thrive in a home with older considerate kids, a friendly female resident canine, and parents familiar with Pyr traits and behaviors to continue to nurture Balou to his full potential to be a devoted family companion. Balou is available for adoption in Texas only.
