“Dogs have a way of finding the people who need them and filling an emptiness we didn’t even know we had.” Smiley is a quiet, shy, and loving Pyr who will give you the Pyr Paw in exchange for lots of love and attention.
Smiley gave birth to her last litter a month before she and her nine puppies arrived at the Great Pyrenees Rescue Society for some much-needed medical attention and help. She is a very lean 64 lbs, and her foster family is feeding her some tasty groceries to help put on some weight.
Smiley, born around November 2018, is well socialized and very friendly once she makes a connection with you. She is house trained, has had some basic training, and walks fine on a leash enjoying long walks. Her foster dad says, “Smiley is sweet and loving. She will never turn down pets or affection.” When she likes you and feels comfortable around you, she will give you a charming smile. She adores her foster dad and stays close to him.
Smiley can be timid when first meeting new dogs; therefore, a slow introduction is required. When out and about shopping with her foster dad, she will sit pretty, and calmly allow strangers to give her as many pets as they want.
She would do well in a home with older, considerate kids and an active resident canine companion near her size. A securely fenced yard to run and play would keep Smiley happy, safe, and occupied. She is an intelligent girl who needs a confident leader in her family that is familiar with Pyr traits and behavior. If there is a place in your heart Smiley can fill, please complete an application today. She is living with her foster family in Port Orchard, WA.
