If you want a giant lap dog, Salsa is here for you! He is a cuddler extraordinaire and loves his people. He will keep you company wherever you are in the house if he can but doesn’t cause a fuss if he can’t get to you. Need your feet protected while you work from home? He’s got you! Do you need a dog-shaped blanket while watching a movie on the couch? He’s there with the BEST snuggles. Salsa knows some basic commands, is housebroken, and is a perfect gentleman in the house all night without being crated. He has shown no interest in counter surfing or inappropriate chewing. This sensitive guy has had a very tough few months and is looking for a stable home where he can gain his confidence back. He is very shy, so he needs a slow introduction to new people and things. It is rewarding to see this beautiful boy come out of his shell! In his foster home, he is making progress on-leash reactivity, resource guarding and learning to get along with the resident corgi. He responds well to confident, positive leadership and would do best in a quiet home as an only dog or with his buddy Tatum. This boy loves to love, and with patience and support, he could truly blossom! Salsa and Tatum were surrendered to GPRS through no fault of their own. One of their adoptive parents passed away, and the other can no longer care for them due to health limitations. They have been dearly loved. Ideally, they would be placed together but could go to separate homes if necessary. ADOPT HERE: Complete an Adoption Application for your Pyr-fect new family companion at https://gprs.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=6206. Adopters located outside of Texas pay the cost of transport to an independent transport service ($250). GPRS has proudly placed thousands of Great Pyrenees and GP mixes in the PNW for over a decade. Our volunteers have over 100 years combined experience fostering, screening, and placing this majestic breed into loving, forever homes. When adopting from us, you can rest assured that we provide life-long support and advice when it comes to your new family member. As always, our purpose is to find the best match for every unique dog that comes through our doors.
