"Sometimes, best friends have four paws." Lada is a happy, friendly, submissive girl who enjoys belly rubs. She will stand and stare at you to get your attention. Lada gets along with other dogs and will play when she wants to. Lada is a low to moderate active Pyr who enjoys sleeping on the chaise.

The Great Pyrenees Rescue Society retrieved Lada, born around November 2016, weighing about 72 lbs, from a Texas animal shelter as a stray. Lada is house trained and has had some basic training (knows to sit and shake). She walks well on a leash, rides nicely in the car, and loads in and out without help.  Lada will bark if something isn't normal outside but will quiet down with a simple "uh-uh." She doesn't like cats and stray dogs.

She would do well as an "only dog" in a family with older, considerate kids, and a securely fenced yard to lounge around would keep Lada happy and safe. She would also thrive in a family with a resident canine companion but must be near her size. She is an affectionate, intelligent girl and needs a confident leader in her family that is familiar with Pyr traits and habits. If you are looking for a best friend with four paws, complete an application for Lada.

ADOPTION, FOSTERING, AND DONATIONS are just some of the ways you can help a rescued dog.  We have worked hard to cultivate a large network of volunteers to save this majestic breed.  While monetary donations are always much appreciated, you can also help by donating your time as a GPRS foster or volunteer!
