Saint Bernard / Great Pyrenees (long coat) : : Male (neutered) : : Young : : Large
Looking for a friendly and playful giant? This sweet Saint Bernard and Great Pyrenees mix Jaxx might be the perfect match. Jaxx and his sad droopy eyes have a sense of humor that will keep you grinning. His antics are humorous to those around him. His foster mom says, “He likes to plop himself down and roll over in the grass. He will drag his body face first into the bushes while on a walk. He is a very messy eater and drools when he drinks water. He sometimes grumbles and rolls around on his back which is super cute.”
Jaxx, born around January 2020, is a lean 85 lb boy who needs to gain a few more pounds. He lays around and chills when he is not a curious counter surfer. His foster mom is training him that this is not acceptable behavior.
Jaxx walks nice on a gentle leader and occasionally darts after a squirrel. He can be a little timid when it comes to noise, like loud trucks or buses passing by, and will dart away while on leash. He is not quick to make new dog friends on a walk but does not react to them.
He rides well in a car. He is crate trained, but sometimes he will dead whale and flop down as a protest to go into the crate, so a bribe with a treat is ok with foster mom.
Jaxx does well being a couch potato, he likes to spend a lot of time lazing about while still keeping an eye on things. He will follow you or lean on you and, at the right moment, will flop belly up for belly rubs and pets, his way of soliciting affection from you. He is quiet and doesn’t bark at all.
Jaxx needs a large yard for play, a cool climate, and long daily walks though if you’re up for a hike, he’ll be glad to tag along. Ultimately, Jaxx is happiest when he’s doing activities with his family. Are you ready for some giant-sized love and loyalty?
